Common questions
- How far in advance should I book?
- We recommend booking at least one week before the trip or event you want to plan around. The consultation and any treatment need time to be arranged properly — last-minute bookings may limit what we can safely offer.
- How does it work?
- The service involves a short clinical assessment. If treatment is appropriate, we'll discuss a plan tailored to your situation. The consultation is private and confidential, and takes around 15 minutes.
- Will I definitely be prescribed?
- No. Treatment is provided where clinically appropriate following our pharmacist's assessment. There are clinical and health factors that may mean treatment isn't right for you. We'll always explain our decision and, where needed, refer you to your GP.
- Are there side effects?
- Any treatment discussed at consultation carries a possibility of side effects. Your pharmacist will explain what to expect and what to watch out for, specific to your situation. This is one reason the consultation matters — it isn't a straightforward over-the-counter transaction.
- Can I do this if I'm on the pill?
- Possibly, but it depends on your specific contraceptive and circumstances. Please mention all current medications in your health questionnaire so your pharmacist can assess safely. Don't change how you take any existing medication before speaking with us.
