James McKeever
Owner & Superintendent Pharmacist, Independent Prescriber

James owns Muirend Pharmacy and acts as Superintendent Pharmacist — the person responsible for ensuring the pharmacy meets its legal, professional, and clinical standards.
An independent prescriber, James leads the team and signs off on every clinical service we offer. He is local to the area and has been involved with the pharmacy for over a decade.
His clinical interest is in long-term conditions and repeat prescribing efficiency. The Pharmaself24 machine and managed repeat service both came from his drive to make prescription collection less burdensome for Muirend patients.

Peter McCarthy
Independent Prescriber · Travel Health Lead
Peter leads the travel clinic and weight management service at Muirend. As an independent prescriber, he can assess, prescribe and administer vaccines where clinically appropriate — without requiring a GP referral.
His travel health expertise covers destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Americas. He runs travel consultations with the depth of a specialist travel clinic, accessible on Clarkston Road.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre designation is pending. Confirm YFVC status with Peter before advertising Yellow Fever appointments.

Aisha Sattar
Pharmacist · Independent Prescriber qualification, final year
Aisha is in the final year of her independent prescriber qualification — adding a third prescribing pharmacist to the Muirend team.
Her IP training means more clinical capacity, more appointment slots, and a longer clinical runway for the pharmacy into the next decade.
She brings particular interest in dermatology and women's health, both of which have growing service potential at Muirend.
The wider team
Behind the three prescribing pharmacists, Muirend has a team of qualified pharmacy technicians and dispensing assistants who handle the day-to-day rhythm of dispensing.
They dispense, check, pack, and manage the stock that lets the clinical services run smoothly. They also deal with the counter, the phone, the deliveries, and the dozen other things that make a community pharmacy work.
Individual team members are listed with their permission. If you'd like to know who to ask for when you call, the pharmacists are always happy to introduce you.
