Accessibility statement
Last updated: June 2026 · Placeholder — formal audit required before launch.
Our commitment
Muirend Pharmacy is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to meet the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
This statement applies to muirendpharmacy.co.uk [CONFIRM domain before launch].
What we have done
- Semantic HTML structure throughout, including appropriate heading hierarchy
- Descriptive alt text on images; decorative images marked with
role="presentation"or empty alt attributes - Keyboard navigable — all interactive elements can be reached and activated by keyboard
- Sufficient colour contrast — text on background combinations meet WCAG AA contrast ratios
- No content relies solely on colour to convey meaning
- Form fields have associated labels
- Links have descriptive text or ARIA labels where necessary
- Page language declared (
lang="en-GB") - No content flashes more than three times per second
Known issues
The following section requires a formal accessibility audit before launch. The items below are placeholder — they must be replaced with honest findings from an actual audit using tools such as Axe, NVDA, VoiceOver, or a specialist accessibility consultant.
- [AUDIT REQUIRED] Mobile navigation keyboard accessibility — to be verified
- [AUDIT REQUIRED] Video content (Pharmaself24 hero video) — no captions currently. Add if video contains speech or important audio information.
- [AUDIT REQUIRED] Form error messaging — verify error states are announced to screen readers
- [AUDIT REQUIRED] Focus indicators — verify visible on all interactive elements across browsers
