You leave with clear advice, a recommended product, or a referral to a GP or other service.

For six specific conditions — UTI, sore throat, ear infection, shingles, impetigo and chest infection — our prescribing pharmacist can assess and supply treatment where clinically appropriate, without a GP appointment. Also free on the NHS.

When to call 999 or go to A&E

Pharmacy First Scotland is for minor illness only. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty), a high fever with a stiff neck or rash, or any rapidly worsening condition — call 999 or go to A&E immediately.
