The eight conditions
Eligibility applies for all conditions. Assessment is required before any treatment is provided.
UTI →
Women 16+
Burning or stinging when urinating, needing to urinate frequently or urgently.
Sore throat →
Adults & children 5+
Pain or scratchiness in the throat, difficulty swallowing, swollen glands.
Ear infection →
Adults & children 1+
Ear pain, a feeling of fullness in the ear, reduced hearing, or discharge.
Chest infection →
Adults 18+
A productive cough with coloured phlegm, breathlessness or a raised temperature.
Shingles →
Adults 18+ · 72 hrs
A painful, blistering rash usually on one side of the body or face.
Impetigo & skin infections →
All ages
Clusters of blisters or crusting sores, usually on the face or limbs.
Cellulitis →
Adults 18+
A hot, red, swollen area of skin — often on the lower leg — that is painful to touch.
Paronychia →
Age 12+
Infection around a fingernail or toenail — redness, swelling, throbbing pain, sometimes pus.

15 minutes with our prescribing pharmacist in a private consultation room. Confidential.

Treatment or referral
Treatment supplied where clinically appropriate, or a referral to your GP or other NHS service.
When to seek urgent care
Pharmacy First Plus is for non-urgent conditions only. If symptoms are severe, rapidly worsening, or you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, or signs of a stroke — call 999 or go to A&E immediately. If unsure, call NHS 24 on 111.
